LIFE (church)

LIFE is a Pentecostal Christian church based in Auckland, New Zealand. It was formerly known as the Christian Life Centre Auckland.

The church was founded in 1991 by Paul de Jong and his wife Maree, who had previously been Associate Pastors of Christian Life Centre Sydney (now part of Hillsong Church). Initially meeting in rented venues, the church grew rapidly to over 500 people.

In 2001, the church purchased an office and warehouse complex which was converted into a 950-seat auditorium. By late 2002, the total weekend attendance over four services had risen to over 3000, and two new congregations had been established in other parts of Auckland. In 2006 and 2009, three more venues were added. LIFE now numbers over 8,000 people meeting in six centres across the city..

In 2010, LIFE Leadership College completed its merger with Lifeway College, based in Snells Beach. [2] Along with this, Lifeway church was merged with LIFE, and became LIFE's sixth location, known now as LIFE North. [3]
